In My Mailbox/Monday Mailbox- February 8, 2010

Story Siren hosts In My Mailbox where book bloggers offer a peek into the books that arrived in their homes over the past week. Mailbox Monday hosted by Marcia at the Printed Page has the same objective - I can relate to the warning that accompanies this meme on her website: "Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists"

I got some great books in my mailbox this week including the eagerly awaited Help by Kathryn Stockett - I might be the only person left who has not read this book! I will remedy that in March when we cover it for book club.

  • The Help by Kathryn Stockett- a friend of mine read this for her bookclub and generously sent me her copy so I would have it for my book club next week!
  • Undress Me in the Temple of Heaven by Susan Jane Gilman - I recevied this from Hachette and I will be reviewing it on Feb 23rd - my first blog tour (woo hoo!) Any advice?

What arrived on your doorstep this week? Have you read any of the books above (or others by the same authors)?

  1. Well, I haven't read "The Help" yet either but it is on my 2010 to read list!!

And I heard the Gilman book is pretty good. As far as advice for blog tours, I think you just need to be balanced in your review but still be honest and leave it up for at least 24 hours to give it full exposure.

  12. I haven't read The Help yet either but I'll be getting to it before you as my book club has chosen it for this month, not next. :-) As a former swimmer, love the cover of The Swimming Pool. It's very appealing to me.

  14. "Crafty chica" -- are genres going to be forever subdividing until we have a genre for every reader? I could have legal thrillers featuring needlepointing Oregonian cat lovers.
