Audiobook Giveaway: Absolute Power (Ends 2/16)
I am very excited to be hosting my first giveaway! I have been the lucky recipient of a few giveaways myself in the past few weeks and am grateful for the opportunity to pay that forward.
As I have mentioned before, I travel for work once a week and it involves a 4 hour roundtrip car ride so audiobooks are fast becoming my friends! It is a great way to pass a long car ride - so pleasureable, in fact, that I have been parked outside my building so that I could finish a chapter.
I recently listened to Absolute Power by David Baldacci - this is the first novel he wrote and the captivating story of presidential intrigue reeled me right in. I will post my review soon but in the meantime . .
Thanks to Anna at Hachette Book Group, I have 3 copies of the audiobook to give away (US and Canada only and no P.O. Boxes please). To enter, please leave a comment below telling me why you like audiobooks (include your email in the comment).
The contest will close on Feb 16th at midnight EST. Good Luck!

Audiobooks allow me to enter my own private, quiet world and disappear for a few hours! Thanks for hosting this giveaway.

I like audiobooks because I have a long commute in taking the kids to school in a neighboring town. So on my way home, I like to take full advantage of the alone time. Since I can't read and drive, audiobooks are a God send. Thanks for the chance to enter the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love to listen to audio books when I take a car trip. I also listen to them when I walk to dog and clean the house. They just make the time go by faster. milou2ster(at)gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI love listening to audiobooks because it helps me get to those books that I may not have a chance to read otherwise. I would love to read this one!

I do audiobooks primarily while exercising. I work at home, but recently acquired clients about 30 miles away, so lately I've been adding commutes to my listening time. Just love them. I have authors I never would have discovered without audiobooks. I have to say, I tend to do whole series at a time.
ReplyDeleteI will say I think "Absolute Power" is by far Balducci's best. Most of the rest that have followed I just couldn't get into. This one was a good one, if I'm recalling it correctly.
For those who enjoy the thriller genre and/or mysteries (and murder!), check out "They Never Die Quietly," by DM Annechino. This isn't for the faint of heart, as there's violence aplenty, some of it graphic. (Of course, there IS a serial killer involved, so that's to be expected.) It's a nail-biter. And beyond the mystery, beyond the woman detective trying to solve it to gain respect of male colleagues, beyond the action, it also, on a completely different level that distressed me to an extent, the book also showed the vast cultural and economic disparities between our affluent country and places like Mexico.
It's a page-turner!
No need to enter me, babe. I'm dropping in to say it's great to meet you.
ReplyDeleteNo need to enter me. I wanted to say thanks for the e-mail. I've got this posted at Win a Book for you.
I have a 45 minute commute, so I listen to audiobooks in my car. This is a fairly recent discovery for me, and I am loving them!! Thanks for the giveaway!

I like to listen to audiobooks because it frees up my hands for other tasks. (I work while I listen.) Also, listening prevents me from giving in to the urge to read the last page. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks!

I would like to win and hear Absolute Power. I like audios because a narrator's voice, if it's the right voice, can bring a story alive. It's like when people sat around and listened to storytellers. They didn't have books. They only had the different volumes of their voices. Their voices became magical as the storyteller became an animal, a hurting wife or an abandoned child. It's really a gift to be a storyteller.
