As I was writing my review for The Reeducation of Cherry Truong, I was reminded of my trip to Vietnam a few years ago. Shortly after we arrived, our tuk-tuk got stuck behind this moped carting pork. It is an image I won't soon forget! We knew we weren't at home anymore!
Oh my! I thought, at first, that you took this photo in NYC! Very cool.
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Saturday Snapshot. I'd love to have you stop by.
ha ha - great picture!! friends of ours lived in Shanghai once and were amazed at what could be transported by bicycle - they saw large furniture, TVs, etc. all carefully balanced on bikes!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend!

That is a great picture. I think he is wider than he is high.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot! We'd never see this in FL, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteYikes! Great photo, but I'm glad I don't see anything like that when I'm out and about. ;-)

Oh my, that would be enough to make me quit eating bacon - for a day or two. I can't imagine balancing a moped carrying that.
ReplyDeleteGosh, that looks so bizarre - here it would be against health and safety, food regulations and goodness knows what else! My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/BIJkg
ReplyDeleteThat is a memorable photo!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is definitely an unforgettable image....thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kathy, it would be hard to put out of my mind for a few days, but then I do love bacon. Very memorable.
ReplyDeleteThat's something you don't see everyday. And a bit creepy too.
ReplyDeletePerfect example of why I love to travel: what is everyday in one person's life is a wonder in another's. I'm sure no one in Vietnam would think twice of taking a photo of this guy. Great moment!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is an unforgettable image- now to try to forget it! I would have taken that picture too.
ReplyDeleteBrings new meaning to the adage 'bringing home the bacon' ... THAT'S for sure!
ReplyDeleteVery rare photo. Simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOne of the rewards of travel-cultural education and affirmation of the charms of other countries.
