Saturday Snapshot: January 12, 2013

Alyce of At Home With Books hosts Saturday Snapshot where participants share a photo they have taken (please don't post photos you find online). Stop by her blog and see what others have posted!

To Market, To Market

As I was writing my review for The Reeducation of Cherry Truong, I was reminded of my trip to Vietnam a few years ago.  Shortly after we arrived, our tuk-tuk got stuck behind this moped carting pork.  It is an image I won't soon forget!  We knew we weren't at home anymore!

  2. ha ha - great picture!! friends of ours lived in Shanghai once and were amazed at what could be transported by bicycle - they saw large furniture, TVs, etc. all carefully balanced on bikes!

  7. Oh my, that would be enough to make me quit eating bacon - for a day or two. I can't imagine balancing a moped carrying that.

  10. I agree with Kathy, it would be hard to put out of my mind for a few days, but then I do love bacon. Very memorable.

  11. That's something you don't see everyday. And a bit creepy too.

  12. Perfect example of why I love to travel: what is everyday in one person's life is a wonder in another's. I'm sure no one in Vietnam would think twice of taking a photo of this guy. Great moment!
