Mailbox Monday: Aug 16 2010
Mailbox Monday is usually hosted by Marcia at the Printed Page; the meme will be doing a blog tour over the next few months - in August it is hosted by Chick Loves Lit. Mailbox Monday gives us a chance to feature the books that came into our homes over the past week (and of course to check out what came in to everyone else's!)
It has been a few weeks since I have done a Monday Mailbox so there is a lot to report on!
For Review:
Leaving Before It's Over: A Novel by Jean Reynolds Page
I Remember You by Harriet Evans
The White House Doctor: My Patients Were Presidents - A Memoir by Connie Mariano
I Know I Am, But What Are You? by Samantha Bee
From PaperbackSwap:
O Come Ye Back to Ireland: Our First Year in County Clare by Niall Williams and Christine Breen
The Luck of the Irish : Our Life in County Clare by Niall Williams and Christine Breen
Cost: A Novel by Roxana Robinson
Bombay Time: A Novel by Thirty Urmigar
Have you read any of these books? What came into your home this week?

ReplyDeleteCourtesy of the library I got the two Kate Christensen novels I have not read yet - Jeremy Thrane and The Epicure's Lament - Dodie Smith's 1948 (should be a classic!) I Capture the Castle.

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by today! I have Cost sitting on my book shelf too, a friend gave it to me after she read it. I find that if I put a book on my bookshelf it takes longer to read (I forget about it).
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
The White House Doctor book would be very interesting to read I bet. Samantha Bee should be a funny one too! Enjoy all your new books!
ReplyDeleteThe White House Doctor really appeals to me, but then I love memoirs.
ReplyDeleteI picked up the Harriet Evans book last month. Haven't been able to read it yet, but am excited to make a weekend out of it.
ReplyDeleteI have both the "County Clare" books on my wish list. Looking forward to hearing what you think when you get around to reading them! :)
ReplyDeleteI saw Connie Mariano on Jon Stewart a few months ago, and thought that the book sounded kind of fun. I hope you enjoy it!
